Safety Program Outline

It is the company's policy to provide training in the following areas at minimum:

  • Safety training to all employees at the time the safety program is initially implemented.
  • Safety training to all newly hired employees, prior to the commencement of job assignments.
  • Special training on safe methods to perform particular job assignments.
  • Special training for employees who may work with hazardous materials, machinery, or equipment.
  • Special training on the use of any safety equipment or apparel specific to the employee's job assignments.

Conduct:

  • Weekly Safety Meetings
  • Safety Audit Field Reports

Accident Prevention Program

Responsibility for implementation of the safety program comes from: Managers and Supervisors, Job Foreman, Employees, Subcontractors and Suppliers.
All employees working for Gerace Construction Company must obey safety rules, follow established safe working practices, and exercise safe and healthful practices in all work activities.  Employees must immediately report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor or to the safety director.  All supervisors have the responsibility to monitor safety conditions at their worksite to identify any safety hazards and immediately report those safety hazards to the safety director.

Hazardous Communications Programs:

There are two reasons why Gerace Construction Company, Inc. implements a Hazardous Communications Program (HCP). One, our company must comply with MIOSHA Part 42 and OSHA Standards 1910.1200. Secondly, a HCP will assist our company in archiving out overall goal of a safer place.

Respirator Policy

This policy at Gerace Construction Company, Inc. establishes our effort to provide the best possible protection and safety for employees who must wear respirators.  Respirators will be used only when engineering control(s) of respiratory hazards is not feasible, chemical substitution was not successful, while engineering controls are being installed, or in emergencies. The Federal requirements for a respirator program are outlined in OSHA (occupational Safety and Health Administration) standard 1910.134 and 1926.103. This policy covers our intent to be in full compliance with the OSHA respiratory standard. Adherence to the requirements of the standard is essential for the successful implementation of the program.

Drug & Alcohol Policy

Gerace Construction Company, Inc, is dedicated to the health and safety of our divers.  Drug and /or alcohol use may pose a serious threat to diver health and safety.  Therefore, it is the policy of Gerace Construction Co., Inc. to prevent the use of drugs and abuse of alcohol from having an adverse effect on our drivers.

Accident & Injury Reports

On site at all times, upon accident the Job Foreman is to complete, information includes: date, time, circumstance (equipment, tool or machinery involved), part of body injured, accident details, etc.

Emergency Response

The procedures in this plan are approved and current. These procedures will be followed to the extent practicable for all emergency situations at any given jobsite.

Construction Services
